Its that time of the year again, when the national weeklies come out with their ranking of the top professional colleges.

outlook ranks st.johns 13th

india today ranks st.johns 12th. interestingly, the perceptual rank of st.johns is 6th according to india today

(the perceptual rank is obtained based on the ratings given by experts in the field on a scale of 1-5 for various parameters like reputation, academic input, student care,  infrastructure, and job prospects. which is then combined with the factual rank obtained by using the factual information supplied by the colleges to arrive at the overall rank.)

    Can’t say whether any of that news is good or bad. I really don’t know how reliable these rankings are. Just 3 years ago, India Today had ranked St. John’s 3rd (if I remember correctly), and the best among private medical colleges. That same year, a few issues later, The Week came out with its own ranking and the name ‘St. John’s’ was never mentioned, forget being in the top ten!

    i agree with you about the rankings. I certainly don’t want to believe that these rankings are accurate. These just reflect the thoughts of a few people/ journalists.
    For eg:- In outlook rankings among the top 10 PG institutes in the country PGI Chandigarh was not even mentioned.
    That makes me doubt about the reliability of such rankings.
    But then always as any other college guy, even we johnites would definitely like to be called number one. So let us hope and work honestly that people may appreciate us seeing what we are !

    Wait a sec! My pic is actually better than some of the others here… I saw a particular triangle shaped face, confused looking and pretty flushed at that! Now who would have a triangular face?!!! That’ll be a whole new chapter in evolution… Is that yours Jino? By any chance?

    Well danny, no commments to that. Let some one else decide which one is better. And as it is prooved in our case, its not allways about looks !!
