For this years Muse Rock scheduled to be held on 14th of August at St. Johns Medical College, Parikrama has agreed to headline the Show. Below is an e-mail from Subir Malik of Parikrama in response to our mail enquiring about chances of getting Parikrama perform for MUSE ROCK 2010.
The second band is not yet finalized. Follow more Muse news on this space !!
“How can Parikrama ever forget Autumn Muse, after all this was OUT FIRST EVER SHOW in Bangalore.I still remember when i went to meet Felix from Reynolds,in a guest house in GK 1, New Delhi, and he telling me about the gig, i was pretty exited, i guess it was 1992-93.Finally he got us the first gig in Bangalore and it was St.John’s med college.WE got in a huge number of fireworks and that time we had no crew. So, Parikrama band members took up, to the roof, about 400 bricks,to cover each firework with approx 4-5 bricks, for safety, we did all by our bare hands. The roof of the college had a huge human skeleton as well, wonder if it is still there.before our performance began, we were greeted by a huge CACTUS plant thrown on the stage, as ppl just did not know us then, and then we started playing….out went the stem and people’s fear…they accepted a NEW band from delhi, about whom hardly any people had known then…..it wld be great to get back to the same stage and we r really looking fwd to it, cheerz !!! Autumn muse, here we come again ”

allright. first of all a huge apology for putting this late by 2 weeks. but what happened 2 weeks back at VISAGES-2010 inter collegiate fest conducted by St.Josephs College of arts and science is a perfect example of the strength of the Johnite cultural team.
out of 20 events and with the total number of participants being a small number of 15 members, more den half the prizes were won which deemed us to be the overall winners.the fest was of a different genre with very few standard cultural events as the theme was heritage and culture of india.
progress was bleak on day 1 with only the mad med men 07 winning laugh out loud( which further emphasized the fact that action speak louder than words considering the unecessary animosity and unsportsmanship showed by a college in CUL -ah) , and the juniormost batch of 2009 winning creative writing and painting.
however the following day which was incidentally he 14th of February, it was raining prizes. 2 prizes in quiz, 1st in debate, 1st in western solo and cartooning( the prize being an ipod shuffle) and 2nd in mono actng was enough to ensure that we were the college to have won the most number of events.
first victory after officialy taking over the committee is always special and sweet. a big thank you to everyone who were a part of this fest, not just by participating but also by their encouragement and interest in the fest that made a difference. lets hope that this is the beginning of many more to come.
